Pattern Review: The Game Day Jersey Tee and Dress

Anneliese of Aesthetic Nest and Wee Muses just released her Game Day Jersey Tee and Dress pattern, and I’m so excited to have been involved in testing this pattern – and now get to show it to you!

He agreed to a photo shoot as long as Bumblebee could be involved. Who was I to argue if he was willing to take pictures...and wear khakis? Which NEVER happens!

This pattern is beyond perfect for boys and girls. I sewed up the tee version for this guy with Riley Blake knits, and he LOVES it. I mean LOVES it! The fit is spot on and has the perfect amount of ease so that it’s super comfy on. Let’s just say I can’t do laundry fast enough for how much he wants to wear this. It is most definitely going to be a closet staple.

And of course, I couldn’t make something for this guy without making something for my girl. So, for Miss P, we went with the Game Day Jersey Dress using Riley Blake knits as well (can you tell I’m in love with their knits?!)

Somehow we managed to get the only 70 degree day in November to take these photos. Thank goodness!

Let me just say this: there are SO MANY OPTIONS with this pattern! Really! Change up the yokes, add stripes to the skirt, make the skirt, make the tee, make the dress, flip flop fabrics, pick from several sleeve lengths – do you see what I’m getting at?! I love having options when I purchase a pattern – it keeps me from self drafting for changes. And this pattern is a really quick sew, too! The tee took me just a couple of hours, and that’s only because I kept getting interrupted by three little ones. You can relate, right? The dress version took me just a tad longer, but it really was super easy on assembly and came together beautifully. At first, I found the fit of the dress to be a bit less fitted than I like. However, after seeing it on her numerous times since it was finished, I’ve grown a liking to the fit just the way it is. And she finds it uber comfy – and that’s so important!

As hard as it is to keep Mitchel Monkey’s shirt clean for constant wearing, it’s just as hard to keep this dress cleaned. She loves it! She wears it every chance she gets, and as soon as things slow down from the Christmas season, I’ll be sewing her up several more! This dress can be fun and sweet, or you can get some fabric with pzazz and turn it into something a bit more formal. Again, SO MANY OPTIONS!

Anneliese did such a beautiful job putting this pattern together – and it’s perfect even for a beginner. Her instructions are thorough and easy to understand, which makes it so enjoyable to sew up. You can find her pattern for The Game Day Jersey Tee and Dress at her shop here. Seriously. Go buy it, and then make fifty of these! They are absolutely lovely!

Lots of twirling is mandatory with this fun dress!
